Fire Alarm Testing
Fire alarm systems play a vital role in ensuring safety by alerting occupants to potential fires. To keep them functioning properly, regular testing is essential. Our team of engineers can conduct both annual & bi-annual fire alarm tests making sure your system is in optimal condition.
Fire Alarm Testing Schedule
Bi-Annual:
Bi-Annual Testing: Every six months, a thorough inspection should be conducted. This includes a detailed examination of all control panels, annunciators, interface units, and wiring. Battery performance and backup systems are also evaluated to ensure they have sufficient power during a power outage. A simulated emergency test is then performed to verify the system’s functionality under controlled conditions that mimic real-life fire scenarios. Finally, audible and visual alerts, along with communication interfaces, are checked for responsiveness and accuracy.
Annual Inspection (By a Qualified Engineer): At least once a year, a qualified engineer should conduct a comprehensive inspection of the entire fire alarm system. This inspection includes a detailed examination of all system components, wiring, and safety signs. Additionally, smoke detectors and heat sensors are cleaned to ensure they can properly detect potential fires. The engineer will also assess the system’s ability to respond to various fire scenarios, ensuring comprehensive protection.
By following this recommended maintenance schedule, you can help ensure your fire alarm system is in optimal condition to safeguard your building’s occupants.
